August Moon Hosta

Emerges in spring with large, heart-shaped leaves that are bright gold to chartreuse depending on the amount of sun exposure.  Grows well in city environments with high exhaust levels.  Hot afternoon sun will kill hostas and they prefer to have mulch over the roots, and the crown in the winter.  Remove foliage in early winter to prevent problems in the spring.  Medium growth rate.  Hostas work well in border plantings, mass plantings, or as specimen plants.
